Devices that connect people
I've blog about the features and funtions of Nokia N95 8GB in my previous post. What I'm going to talk about in this post is how powerful the Nokia N98 8Gb compare with a personal computer (PC).
Nokia are the leading manufacturer of mobile phones in the world and currently supply an astonishing 40% of all handsets sold worldwide.
There are many divisions within Nokia that have a focus on a specific market segment. One of these divisions is the NSeries range. With the Nokia NSeries, Nokia are looking to move away from the simple 'Mobile Phone' and because of this prefer to refer to NSeries phones as 'Multimedia Computers'.
So in comparison to the Home PC and an N Series phone, does the term 'multimedia computer' stack up? Can Nokia legitimately call their Nseries products computers? Let's compare the Nokia N95 8GB to my Home PC and find out.
The main use for my Home PC is browsing the web. So, how does the 8GB N95 tackle this task? Actually, rather well as the S60 web browser is one of the best available on any mobile phone. The large screen size of the N95 helps with navigation and the numeric keypad shortcuts are also a boon to browsing on the phone.
After web use, I mainly use my PC for email. How does the N95 cope with this? Again, it holds its own. Users can store multiple email accounts in the phone, you can access email via imap or pop3, view documents, video and picture attachments, create emails with attachments and send them over super fast HSDPA Mobile Broadband.
So it seems the NSeries range of phones, and in this case the Nokia N95 8GB, really does deserve the title of 'Multimedia Computer' which is quite an accolade for something that is as light as feather and fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. Well done Nokia, you fully deserve your number one manufacturer title.

I would say Nokia N95 8Gb is the best phone from Nokia so far. Why? Is it because it has all the functions such as Wifi, GPS, great camera and multiplayer?
Nokia N95 8Gb is a 2 way slide phone; sliding it up will expose the number keypad while sliding down will reveal the music player keys. When the phone is in idle mode, the silver keys perfectly match the color of the phone.
Nokia N95 also offers a large 2.8" QVGA (0.2" larger than the previous N95), it supports 16 million color display, impressive 3D graphics, built-in stereo speakers with 3D stereo effect, 3.5 mm audio jack, and mini USB for convenient data transfer. It doesn't have the memory slot as the built in memory is already sufficient to store photos and audio files.
With Wifi, you can browse the internet on the Nokia N95 8Gb. With a larger screen size, it gives you more pleasure while surfing the net. Nokia N95 8Gb uses the same OS platform as the previous N95 which is the latest revision of the Symbian OS, named v9.2, S60v3 FP1.
As for the GPS, it uses the Smart2Go application by Nokia called Nokia Maps. Smart2Go is a totally free application from Nokia and it improves a little bit on the user interface from the earlier version.
Nokia N95 8Gb has a great camera as it uses the Carl Zeiss optics and with 5 megapixels. The camera setting includes the following shooting mode (auto, custom, macro, portrait, nighttime, nighttime portrait, sports (for moving objects) and landscape). It also has timer, multi shot, white balance setting, ISO setting and contrast setting. All these settings can be easily found in most digital camera these days. So, why carry an extra digital camera when you can have it all in the Nokia N95 8Gb? The only comment on the camera is that it doesn't have Xenon flash; it only comes with an LED flash.
Here's goes the summary for some of the enhancement from the previous Nokia N95. The display screen is larger by 0.2 inches, the screen matrix is now covered with a protective glass, increase of the built in memory to 8Gb, battery capacity increase from 950 mAh to 1200 mAh, built in GPS and extra camera interface options.
So far, I don't really see any critics on the phone other than the LED flash. Nokia N95 8Gb is the great phone if you're looking for a Wifi, GPS and a great camera function phone all in one.

U Mobile finally launched its prepaid service. U Mobile (prefix 018) is now available in Malaysia and is applicable to all mobile phones. Do take note that the 3G service such as video call is only available in Klang Valley at this point of time. I think U Mobile will be expanding the coverage very soon.
Now you can get your U Mobile 018 prepaid for FREE, which means you don't need to pay a single cent for the starter pack. You can get your FREE starter pack here. Unlike other service provider charging by blocks of 30 seconds, U Mobile prepaid usage is charge per seconds which means you only pay what you use. It helps you to save more!! For sms, the charge is 8 cents for all networks. Please refer to U Mobile 018 prepaid charge below:
I have blog about the Nokia 6300i some where in March. And I only realize that I did not talk about the Nokia 6300 at all, which happen to be one of my all time favorite phone.
Nokia 6300 is considered as a mid-range candy bar phone that uses the Series 40 3rd Edition as its OS. The Nokia 6300 is a very slim phone, the size is 106 x 44 x 12 mm and weighs only 91g. I personally love the steel plates design as it looks very solid. As for the keypads, the size of every buttons are just nice for the fingers.
No complaint on the display for Nokia 6300, it comes with a 2 inches screen that displays 16.7 million colors. Crisp, clear display I would say. The top side of the phone would be the on/off button while at bottom side, you will find the USB connector (with protecting cap) and 2 slots for charger and 2.5mm audio jack. At the reverse side is the camera and speaker.
Nokia 6300 comes with a 2 mega pixel camera which allows user to capture still photos and video. A bit disappointment on the camera as it doesn't have the auto-focus function, no LED flash and giving users an average quality of picture and video.
The 6300 comes with internal 7.8Mb built in memory. Luckily, it has the expandable memory slot which can support up to 2GB. More than sufficient to store tons of pictures and audio files. The music player is great and it supports MP3, MID, AAC, AAC+, and WMA formats, it also supports A2DP profile. Not forgetting to mention that it has an FM radio too.
Connectivity wise, it has the GPRS, bluetooth, EDGE and USB cable. I won't complain about the lack of 3G as this phone is a mid-range phone as I've mentioned earlier.
If you're looking for a phone simply for making calls and do not need those "high tech" functions like 3G, GPS or even an excellent camera, I PhoneLover would like to recommend you to get the Nokia 6300. A phone that has great design and is easy to operate.
