Nokia N96 Review

Nokia launched their latest Nokia N96 during the Mobile World Congress. Let's take a look at what Nokia N96 has to offer.
Nokia N96 is a quad band phone with dual band HSDPA that runs on Symbian S60 3rd edition. It has a large 2.8" screen and 16 GB of internal memory (expandable for additional 8GB). Honestly, I'm quite surprise with the large storage capacity.
Nokia N96 is a dual slide phone like the previous N95’s design. The black color design simply spells stylish and elegant. There's a 5 mega pixel Carl Zeiss camera attached, and it's ringed in silver housing that flips out to act as a stand for the phone while viewing video. Another thing is the single LED flash of the N95 has been replaced by a double LED one in the N96, but unfortunately does not have the Xenon of flash of the N82.
Let’s move on to the user interface, as I mention it uses the Symbian S60 3rd edition (Features Pack 2) which means the graphic displayed will look better, smoother and without any delays if we open multiple applications.
I will now talk about the quality of the camera. For outdoors, quality turned out very well. You can even do a close up shot for a flower/insect, no problem at all. For indoors, the quality is not as good as the former. Sad to say that it only comes with LED flash, without xenon flash. What a waste. You may capture video up to 30 fps and it has the option called video stabilization.
The sound quality of the music player is just nice if you have the right headphone for it. If you’re using the built in speaker, the sound is loud enough.
The Nokia N96 retains the same 128MB RAM/256MB ROM found on the N95 8GB, but has an upgraded processor from the 332MHz ARM 11 found on the original to Dual CPU ARM 9 running at just 2x264MHz.
The Nokia N96 comes with 3G, Wifi function, Bluetooth, and built in GPS.
By looking at the functions and features of the N96, I would say it’s the best mobile phone (symbian phone) for the year. The only critic is that the camera don’t come with xenon flash. Other than that, the features are up to my expectation.
