Sony Ericsson K880i
Written by ImagesLab.net on Saturday, January 05, 2008Can you recall my previous topic less than 2 weeks ago where I've discussed on the subject of camera phone? Well.. while browsing the internet this morning, I "stumbled" on this cool discovery. This little shocker truly made me realize technologies are surely progressing way faster than I thought it will. No kidding..
So, what exactly is the phone that I'm talking about? It's the spanking new Sony K880i which will be available in the market in the first quarter of 2008.
This is how the upcoming Sony K880i will look like;
You must read this ladies and gentlemen, this phone comes with a 6.1 Sony Cyber-shot technology camera. I was amazed when I got to know this because I've just talked about 5mp being the best camera phone barely 2 weeks ago. And guess what, the processor they are using in this phone is the Nvidia GeForce 5500 which is from a computer graphic card software company.
Here's a real short and snappy model comparison between Sony K880i and Sony Ericsson K850i. In terms of screen size, K850i have a bigger screen which is 2.2 inch whereas K880i only had a 2 inch screen. K880i comes with 4GB internal memory which I believe can easily be boost up to a 8GB with the help of a memory stick. On the other hand, K850i can only support up to 4GB (the maximum including memory stick). But still, both models doesn't support Wifi. Other features between the two models are more or less similar.
Now I'll leave it to you to determine and conclude which of the camera is better. K880i comes with a 6.1 Megapixel camera and K850i with a 5.0 Megapixel. At this point, most users will go for the higher Megapixel as they have this perception that the photos taken will definitely turn out clearer. But bear in mind that K880i max resolution is 2048 x 1536 pixels whereby K850i max resolution is 2592 x 1944 pixels. Any idea at all which is better? Yes? No?
Fair enough, let's wait till the release of K880i and we'll compare the quality of the photos then.

Im not sure, but a few other websites have this image and they seem to think its a concept phone. Searched the sony ericsson press site and there is no mention of a K880i. Would be intresting to know where you got the release date info from
