Celcom Xpax plan for students

Written by ImagesLab.net on Sunday, September 07, 2008

Yes... Another prepaid plan from Celcom.

IN A bid to create brand affinity at a much tender age, Celcom recently unveiled an exclusive Xpax prepaid plan targeted at students age 12 to 25.

The plan offers this target group a much longer credit expiry date — until they turn 25 — as well as low call and SMS charges.

Divided into two packages — School of X (SOX) for students age 12 to 18 and University of X (UOX) for those between 18 to 25 — the subscriber pays 15sen per minute for calls and one sen for each text message sent.

If they subscribe to the 8pax option (cheaper rates to communicate with eight others Celcom users), the company will only charge them 10sen per minute for calls and each SMS only incurs a 0.5sen charge.

Additionally, videocall rates are 15sen per minute to other Celcom users and 30sen per minute to other networks.

Other prepaid bonuses, including the welcome bonus, every-month bonus, birthday bonus and reload bonus are also applicable with this newly-launched plan.

According to Celcom CEO Datuk Seri Shazalli Ramly, the launch of SOX and UOX enables the company to specifically address the student market and their communication needs.

The difference in the two packages will be in the rewards and related activities that

Celcom will be introducing to the subscribers in upcoming months, he said.

The SOX and UOX starter packs are available for free but customers are required to purchase a RM10 prepaid reload card and bring along their identification card for registration purposes.

To prevent misuse, each customer can only register one SOX or UOX account. With regular Celcom prepaid plans, each user is allowed to register up to 10 numbers.
