Tyler Cruz vs. Gyutae Park
Written by ImagesLab.net on Monday, January 14, 2008I learned about this challenge from an acquaintance of mine and I promptly logon to the internet to google it out in an attempt to retrieve additional details of both these famed blogger. Being an inexperience novice blogger and not knowing much about the blogging society left me with no other resort but to double the effort taken by the veterans.
To begin, the contenders are namely Tyler Cruz and Gyutae Park. In this contest both will be competing each other to gather more votes from their readers and the one who manage to obtain the most votes would be pronounce the champ. TylerCruz is offering $100 prize money (a total of $300) to 3 lucky winners and whoever that has voted for Tyler will definitely get 150 Entrecard credits and a plug of your blog. Gyutae on the other hand is offering "Winning the Web t-shirts" (for the 1st 50 voters) and voters also stand a chance to win $100 for 3 lucky winners. So which of these reward looks more attractive to you? I’m somewhat elated as thus far I’ve never earned a single cent from blogging. Haha…
I have come to a decision and wish to cast my vote for TylerCruz. But on what basis? Well, by looking at the statistics from feedburner, TylerCruz is leading with 1,129 readers at present, while Gyutae is following behind with 308 readers. Tyler is ahead of Gyutae with more than 800 readers. Common sense tells me that the more readers you have, it simply meant the more popular you are, don’t you agree with this average layman term?
I was quite fascinated by Tyler's playful cartoon-like illustration compared to that of Gyutae (truth is there's not much "energy" and I couldn't spot any oomph in Gyutae's). Vibrant graphics does play an important role in drawing the interest of potential readers. Tyler's image reflects a mischievous youngster which seems to portray a funkier personality whereas Gyutae is using the "oh-so-plain" old-school style which is the alphabet design (notice the "W" on the blue-colored jersey). Gyutae, I seriously think it is too dull. Just my two cents, hopefully I don't offend anyone.
The layout in Tyler’s blog also looks more user-friendly and it'll certainly be one of the reason why I'm going to frequent his blog more often in future. I suppose this is how a blogger retain their countless loyal readers. As for the layout in Gyutae's blog, it appears slightly disorganized.
The rewards offered by Gyutae are just not attractive enough to capture my attention and to gain my vote. I personally dislike blue colored t-shirt because I hate Chelsea (The EPL football club). Oh yes, I am a devoted Manchester United fan and Tyler's icon is donning red color! :P
If someday, given the chance for me to choose between the two of them again, I would still prefer Tyler over Gyutae. Reason being... I find it easier to pronounce the name TylerCruz as there's this celebrity called Penelope Cruz that has the same surname. As for Gyutae, it kind of bears a resemblance to a Japanese name which is more often harder to pronounce.
Hmm, what else have I missed? I think that's all I can think of on why I'm voting for TylerCruz. Hope you'll win and make me 100 dollars richer.
